Doug Blanchard, B.S., M.Cm., L.Ac.

Doug is the co-owner and practitioner of

Cups & Needles Acupuncture, LLC.  He is trained in

Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) which encompasses

an array of modalities, not just acupuncture.

Some modalities that are included:  Chinese herbal medicine,

dietary therapy, cupping, moxabustion,

Tui Na (Chinese medical massage), Tai Chi,

Qi Gong and Gua Sha.

Doug acquired experiences in various clinics during his studies at Northwestern Health Sciences University and American Academy of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine including University Health Services at Northwestern, UMMC hospital, acute rehab and post-surgery, and AAAOM Clinic in Roseville, MN.

Upon completing his BS in Psychology at Iowa State University, Doug went on to complete his Masters in Oriental Medicine at the American Academy of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine.  He is certified in Clean Needle Technique through the Council of Colleges of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (CCAOM).

Some fun facts about Doug.  He is a Third Degree Black Belt/Second Level Master in the Chinese Martial Art "Li Jia Tao Chan Kung Fu."  Before his background in TCM, Doug was an electrician for 10 years.  Doug has carried the knowledge that he has gained from doing electrical work to TCM.  "The body is like a power plant, everything needs to work together to run smoothly.  When one thing fails, everything fails."  "I just have to find the break in the wire (Acupuncture Channel), repair or take out the bad spot (Tonify or Reduce), and help the electricity (Energy) move better."

Ashley Blanchard, B.S., M.Cm., L.Ac.

Ashley is the second co-owner of Cups & Needles, and yes,
Doug is her husband.  Together their small family consists of
two daughters ages 10 years and 6 months.  Ashley would love
to grow the business in treating families and pediatrics.
She enjoys working with parents and moms-to-be, educating
them on treatments for the whole family from a preventative,
balanced lifestyle standpoint.
Ashley enjoyed training in various areas throughout her schooling at Northwestern Health Sciences University as well.  She was fortunate to have many clinic experiences.  Her most favorite to note were working with women in antepartum and postpartum,  interacting with pediatrics in outpatient care, learning rehabilitative treatments for patients recovering from stroke and other neurological traumas, and helping seniors find comfort in the aging process.
Three and a half years of graduate studies at Northwestern Health Sciences earned Ashley her Masters degree in Chinese Medicine.  She is licensed in Acupuncture in the state of Minnesota through the MN Board of Medical Practice.  She is certified in Clean Needle Technique through the Council of Colleges of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (CCAOM).  Ashley completes regular continuing education in various areas to keep up her national acupuncture certification.
